High Availability for Virtual Machines
Citrix Essentials for XenServer High Availability provides fully automated system failover for virtual machine environments. If a host fails, virtual machines are restarted on available servers in the resource pool, with intelligent placement based on current resource utilization. High Availability provides administrators with multiple protection levels, ensuring that the most critical workloads are restarted first, followed by lower-priority workloads as capacity allows. The system will ensure that enough resources always exist in your environment to cover restart of the most critical workloads.
High Availability for the Virtualization Platform
Not only does Citrix Essentials for XenServer High Availability protect virtual machines -- it also protects the virtualization platform itself. In the event that the master server in a resource pool fails, the system will automatically promote an available server to master ensuring continuous and optimum operation of the virtualization environment.
